March Spring Cleaning & Home Maintenance Checklist

Hello, spring 🌷

March is all about new beginnings:  longer days, open windows, and getting your home ready for the season ahead. This checklist is designed to be realistic (think: one weekend, or a little at a time) and focuses on the handful of tasks that make the biggest difference for comfort, safety, and maintenance.

The March Checklist: 8 Spring Reset Tasks

1) Deep clean the details

Go beyond floors: baseboards, vents/returns, ceiling fans, behind appliances, and bathrooms. It’s the quickest way to make the whole home feel “new” again.

2) Brighten the home (light + glass)

Replace burnt-out bulbs and clean windows/screens where you can. More light instantly makes a space feel fresher, cleaner, and more welcoming.

3) Gutters & Downspouts

Clear debris, confirm downspouts push water away from the foundation, and look for any overflow issues.
Spring rain will find the weak spot—this is one of the most important seasonal checks.

4) Water Check

Inspect under sinks & toilets for slow leaks, check exterior hose bibs for drips after winter.
Tiny drips can turn into bigger repairs if they go unnoticed.

5) Dryer Vent & Bath Fan Clean-up

Clean lint path and vent, confirm exterior flap opens, and de-dust bathroom exhaust fans.
This is a simple safety + moisture-control win that most homeowners forget until it’s urgent.

6) HVAC spring start

Replace your HVAC filter and vacuum return vents. If your system is due, schedule service before the first hot week hits—your future self will thank you.

7) Outdoor Living Refresh

Pull covers off, wipe down furniture, clean the grill, & make the space feel “ready to use.”
Once it’s set up, you’ll actually use the patio the moment the weather cooperates.

8) Curb Appeal Basics

Cut grass, edge beds, add fresh mulch, and add in a couple planters for instant polish.
A tidy entry and refreshed landscaping makes every arrival feel better—whether it’s you, guests, or future buyers.
